Avicii among those who Assisted Nile Rodgers for upcoming chic album
One of Dance musics most iconic and active participant along with his pioneering involvement in the rise of the Disco genre, Nile Rodgers is an artist who has been the man behind the music of all decades since founding Disco/Funk band Chic in 1976 along with Bernard Edwards. Having featured and collaborated with the likes of David Bowie, Duran Duran, Madonna, INXS, Britney Spears, Daft Punk, Nicky Romero, Avicii, Pharrell Williams, Disclosure, Sam Smith, Pitbull, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and NERVO among others, it would be unwise to mistake that this impressive roster of the fellow musicians havent had their fair share of influence on Rodgers.
Talking about the upcoming Chic album, Rodgers opened up to The National about the album not just being an exclusively Chic production but one that draws from the artists he has previously worked with. Talking about Aviciis involvement in the production of the album, the legendary Rodgers explained:
I dont want the album to be just a tribute to Chic. I still continued to grow and kept writing new music. Thank God I met people like Avicii, Lady Gaga, Daft Punk and Pharrell and we all keep writing music, he said. I also wrote the lyrics. You know, I dont want to live in the past but it is a nice place to visit.
In previous interactions with Billboard, Rodgers has also talked about the upcoming Chic album featuring collaborations and involvement with and from the likes of David Guetta, Avicii and Nicky Romero. It just goes to show that even though Dance music producers have taken assistance and inspiration from the Chic founder for their productions, Rodgers has shown no qualms about maintaining a friendly quid-pro-quo relationship with them.
