arl ox set to return to Ibiza in 2017

Many people were upset last summer as the doors slammed shut on the Space Ibiza legacy, with the King of Ibiza Carl Cox bddng farewell wth an emotonal 9-hour set at hs Music is Revolution closing party in September. Now, with excitement building for the season ahead on the White Isle, it seems like the Balearic legend is going to make a stunning comeback.
Whilst playing at his sell-out Carl Cox & Friends party at Londons Tobacco Dock on New Years Day, the British DJ has just given a huge hint about his plans for the new season, wearing a t-shirt with the logo PURE CARL COX IBIZA 2017 on throughout his performance. That very day a Facebook page under the same name made its first post that said, Ibiza 2017 We are coming for you!
It was a great surprise to many fans, as the DJ ended his 15-year residency at Space last season, following the decision from the clubs owner, and Coxs lifelong friend, 80-year Pepe Rosello, to sell the club. And in a 2015 interview, the legendary mix-master claimed he would never return as a result of his loyalty to Pepe, stating:
It gets handed over to Ushuaïa Group across the road and its manager Jan will be given the keys to run Space. And once that happens, everything changes. Because if Pepes not there, I am not there. We grew up together, weve been all the way through this together, and were going to finish together. And Im quite happy about that, because it means we leave the legacy of a club that made a difference.
As yet Coxy hasnt confirmed whether the Facebook page is official, and his representatives made no comments. However, there do seem to be indications that the 54-year old may be set to sign to a weekly residency called Game Over which will be held at Privilege. Either way, the return of an Ibiza legend can only be a good thing for the island in 2017! Oh yes oh yes!
