After 13 years in a row: Tiesto 2020 not with the Ultra

The Ultra Music Festival in Miami is one of the most spectacular music festivals in the world and always the beginning of the season in the EDM scene. The final line-up phase will be published shortly. A name is still missing from the contingent. But according to his own statement, Tiesto will not be there this time. And that after 13 appearances in a row.

Tiesto is absent for the first time after 13 appearances in a row.

Before the organizers announce the last line-up phase in the next few days, important information has already seeped through. Dutch DJ and producer Tiesto will not be part of this year's edition. The 51-year-old confirmed this via Instagram. A fan asked him to play a new, unpublished remix on the Ultra. Then the current number eight in the world replied that he would like to do so, but would not play in Miami this year. This means Tijs Verwest is missing from the lineup for the second time (2006 & 2020) and for the first time since 2007. Otherwise there is only one DJ who has been booked a similar number of times in the 20 years - namely Carl Cox. But why does the UMF forego the bedrock?

Another festival takes place on the same weekend.
Unfortunately, it is not known whether the organizer simply wants to breathe fresh air or the Musical Freedom founder does not want to perform this year. Tiesto performs at Beyond Wonderland in California that same weekend. The festival has been held in the United States since 2010, this year at the National Orange Show Event Center in San Bernardino, California. In addition to the "Rituals" artist, who will perform on Friday, March 20, there are other DJs such as Alan Walker, Diplo, Kayzo, R3hab or Valentino Khan at the start.
